同樣喜歡音樂的父子卻因為喜歡類型不同產生摩擦，在二十年後兒子得了腦瘤失憶，為了喚醒他固執的爸爸開始試著聽兒子喜歡的音樂，去了解他和他溝通，非常的真摯動人。
兒子是個60年代的嬉皮，生病後記憶停在60年代，語言治療師經過測試發現只有跟他討論當時的迷幻搖滾，反戰民謠等等他才會有反應。

喜歡古典的爸爸當時把這些視為吵死人的音樂，慢慢則開始努力了解兒子，聽兒子口沫騰飛的說著狄倫說著死之華和披頭四等等等，終於理解了兒子所看到的世界以及眼中的熱情。
這部片順便幫觀眾上了一堂60年代的搖滾課，片中我最喜歡的是水牛春田的For What it's Worth

是隨便聽兩次就會把副歌記下來的那種旋律
爸爸開始努力跟兒子創造新的共同回憶，跑去買了一堆唱片反覆聽，還參加電台抽獎抽中兩張死之華的演唱會門票興沖沖地跟兒子一起去，失憶的兒子在音樂的幫助下也開始記住了與父親的相處點滴，彌補了兩個人失去的二十年
片中穿插的一些小小細節都很細膩動人，像是主角兒子每次看見醫院餐廳小姐西利雅都會唱那首西利雅的歌，轉頭就忘了所以每次都像第一次見面，當他終於記住西利雅時，西利雅卻要離開醫院了
音樂跟氣味一樣會留下當時的心情和記憶，
片中爸爸與兒子小時候常玩的遊戲是撥放唱片然後回想第一次聽到這首歌的場景和故事
利用音樂輔助陸續換回兒子記憶的能力，是相當勵志也相當富有希望的創意劇情
片中那些耳熟能詳的音樂也著實勾起觀影者當初聽到這些曲子的種種回憶
(ex水牛春田那首我完全回憶起冥王星早餐的歷歷畫面
父子從爭執到理解的濃厚的牽絆這般老梗總是勾人心弦阿
